About the Event
SIMA presents our Pathways Into the AFP event, hosted by Dr Ahmed Al-Jabir, one of our alumni officers and an SIMA presents our Pathways Into the AFP event, hosted by Dr Ahmed Al-Jabir, one of our alumni officers and an Academic Foundation Trainee in Ipswich Hospital, with an interest in Academic Surgery having been awarded a distinction in Masters of Surgical Skills and more than 12 academic publications on surgery and medical education. Ahmed also completed an internship in the Healthcare division of the prestigious consultancy group BCG.
The event will run through the application proces and all the tips you need for successful entry. Sections include:
- What is AFP
- Different types of AFP
- Why AFP isn't for everyone
- White space questions - interactive sessions (please bring a draft if you have one)
- Interviews in the time of COVID - how to Virtually wow them
- Interview technique - Portfolio Station, Critical Appraisal
